Dear friends:
We are preparing to celebrate another holiday season. As we welcome the dawn of a New Year, it is again the time for reflection and renewal. If we look back 25 or 50 years, we see generations before us, we see an underdeveloped poorer India, and we see a world yearning for progress. Now we are in a much different world. We see a generation different from the one we grew up. We enjoy tremendous advancement in communication and information technology. We see wealth and luxury among and around us. But, look around and beyond, we can still see poverty and suffering.
World Malayalee Council and its members while enjoying and experiencing the technological development and economic boom, must be aware that there are fellow Malayalees and human beings yearning for a more dignified and better life. As we celebrate the holiday season, I urge you to dedicate some of your time for humanitarian activities and set aside portion of your wealth for the poor and the needy. Most of WMC provinces are engaged in humanitarian activities and I applaud all of you.
An indigenous arctic proverb says like this,
"May you have the warmth in your Igloo
Oil in your lamp, and
Peace in your heart."
Igloo is the dome shaped Eskimo dwelling built of blocks of ice.
WISH YOU ALL A VERY HEALTHY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR
With love and regards,
Andrew Pappachen
WMC Global Chairman.
