MODUS OPERANDI
There is an abundance of opportunity around the Globe. India in general and Kerala in particular has high density of educated manpower which is untapped and therefore unutilized. The colonial education system which focused on clerical jobs, failed to meet the employability parameters of the modern world.
The course focused on those soft skills which an employer expects from his employees, how to build and maintain relationships and guidelines to independently
undertake responsibilities in an organization and in life.
For a sound relationship a sound personality is essential. A good personality is not only the physical appearance but also a reflection of the inner self .Often the growth of inner self is inhibited by stressful environment. Thus personality is “ all that you are ”.
That means ability, attitude, interest, habit, expectation, value, faith, love…. All these are encapsulated in a single beautiful word “personality”.
Employability depends on the ability to respond and shoulder responsibility. Communication is the life blood of any organization. The global scenario expects internationally accepted ways of interaction. An important priority was given to remove the inhibition to speak English to strangers.
The fundamentals of redimentary English Grammar was inculcated in a strong and successful effort by expert teachers. Half of the task is accomplished then . Participants found it comfortable to converse with an American business man who engaged them in lively and interactive sessions. They found themselves reclining towards confident zone. The students found themselves getting rid of their language inhibitions nurtured by the Kerala culture.
One’s profession is determined by his USP. Tracing out that specific sell/ability was given due importance. Peace of mind is the ultimate goal, a much sought after state of mind during the chaos that sometimes accompanies success.
Mental balance and constant, continuous striving power blooming from a personality with SMART goal, self motivation, meditation, breath control and yoga were some of the ideas that were given necessary importance throughout the course. A relationship becomes meaningful only when sustainability synchronizes with credibility. This view was endorsed in order to enrich a person’s life style.
Confidence and attitude are crucial factors in employability. Anecdotes and experience sharing by resourceful experienced teachers were really exciting. Innovative ideas emerge from a fertile and balanced mind. Fertility is induced by simple living .Participants were enlightened by the life style approach of successful and eminent personalities.
Training and internship provided in areas of sales and marketing led to multifaceted skill development, among aspirants. Interview techniques, presentation, group discussion, lecture session, behavioral discipline and emotional integrity were covered in an innovative manner. These employability enrichment techniques worked out well with the enthusiastic participants.
60 to 70 percentage of the participants were placed in reputed firms at the end of the course. All the participants were rewarded with the rich gift of confidence and fluency and were thankful for being given the opportunity to be part of this unique experiment that not only enhanced their employability but also enriched their lives with innumerable valuable traits.
