An Affiliate of the World Malayalee Council In c
Back Ground
The need for an Organization that is exclusive in
fostering the Interests of the Business Community comprising of
Malayalees the World Over, had been exercising the minds of a few
Visionary Malayalees, for quite some time. They were fired by their
vision of the Endless Possibilities and Mind Boggling Scenario when
Malayalee Industrialists Businessmen located in All Corners of The
Globe join hands and come together under a common umbrella, a common
platform.
This germ of an idea, though often surfaced in informal meetings
& discussions, continued to remain dormant until it found genuine
expression during the WMC 3rd Global Conference 2002 held at Dingden
West Germany during August 2002, when the President WMC actively
took it up. It was decided to register WORLD INDIA CHAMBER OF
COMMERCE (WICC) in USA with Administrative Head office at Chennai.
However, there were legal impediments in registering WICC in USA as
visualized in the Dingden Conference and so the WMC cabinet
unanimously decided to Register The Chamber in India. The President
WMC, Mr.Andrew Pappachan contacted Mr.A.V.Anoop, the then President
WMC Chennai Province and authorized him to get the Registration
activities done in India.
Birth of The Chamber
Mr.A.V.Anoop immediately set out to comply with this
decision by forming a group of the requisite number of likeminded
keen Businessmen as Founder Members & proceeded ahead to get the
Registration Activities completed. Wide Consultations were held with
the Experts in the field in preparing the Memorandum & Articles
ofAssociation. A Special Mention is made here, of the name of
Col.SUBRAMANIAN (Retd), Secretary of Madras Chamber of Commerce &
Industry (MCCI) who provided valuable advices & guidances at every
step. The Chamber, wasb orn on 23st December 2003 bearing the name
INDIAN WORLDWIDE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (IWCC) complying with the
requirements of Registrar of Companies and it was registered in
Chennai India under Companies Act 1956 as a Section 25
Company, a Company Limited by Guarantee.
